Pete Hallberg, President of the McLeod Food Shelf, along with Carrie Opheim, Executive Director walked Hutchinson Rotary Club members through the Hutchinson site as part of a recent club meeting.
Residents of McLeod County can stop into the food shelf and do a full shop through departments once per month and return weekly for fresh produce.
The food shelf has partnerships with many retail stores to collect goods that are no longer sellable, but perfectly good for consumption. Donations come into the Hutchinson site (as well as the Glencoe site) daily and volunteers sort those items and get them on the shelves or in coolers.
